Toronto, ON – The city of Toronto is currently facing severe flooding, causing multiple road and transit closures. As a result, commuters and residents are advised to plan their routes accordingly and to exercise caution while traveling.
According to the City of Toronto’s website, the following roads are currently closed due to flooding:
– Lake Shore Boulevard West, from Windermere Avenue to Colborne Lodge Drive
– Bayview Avenue, from River Street to Rosedale Valley Road
– Don Valley Parkway, from Bayview Avenue to Don Mills Road
– Don Roadway, from Commissioners Street to Villiers Street
– Cherry Street, from Commissioners Street to Villiers Street
– Commissioners Street, from Cherry Street to Don Roadway
– Rosedale Valley Road, from Bayview Avenue to Park Road
– River Street, from Gerrard Street East to Bayview Avenue
In addition, the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) has also announced the following closures and service disruptions:
– Line 1 Yonge-University: No service between St. Clair West and Union stations due to flooding at Union Station. Shuttle buses are operating between these stations.
– Line 2 Bloor-Danforth: No service between Broadview and St. George stations due to flooding at Bay Station. Shuttle buses are operating between these stations.
– Line 3 Scarborough: No service between Kennedy and McCowan stations due to flooding at Kennedy Station. Shuttle buses are operating between these stations.
– Line 4 Sheppard: No service between Sheppard-Yonge and Don Mills stations due to flooding at Bayview Station. Shuttle buses are operating between these stations.
The TTC has also advised that streetcars are not operating on Queen Street East between Broadview Avenue and Coxwell Avenue due to flooding.
City officials are working diligently to address the flooding and to reopen the affected roads and transit services as soon as possible. However, they are urging residents to avoid unnecessary travel and to use alternate routes if possible.
