Calgary, AB – A new program by Golf Canada is giving underprivileged youth in Calgary the opportunity to hit the links and learn the sport of golf.
The program, called “Future Links, driven by Acura,” is aimed at providing access to golf for children and youth who may not have had the chance to experience the sport before.
According to Golf Canada, the program is designed to introduce young people to the game of golf and help them develop their skills, while also promoting values such as sportsmanship, honesty, and respect.
“We believe that golf is a sport that can have a positive impact on the lives of young people,” said Jeff Thompson, Chief Sport Officer at Golf Canada. “Through this program, we hope to provide opportunities for children and youth to learn and grow through the game of golf.”
The program is being offered in partnership with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Calgary, which serves over 4,000 children and youth in the city. The organization is dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for young people to learn, grow, and reach their full potential.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Golf Canada to bring this program to our members,” said Jeff Dyer, CEO of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Calgary. “Golf is a sport that teaches important life skills and values, and we are excited to see the impact it will have on our youth.”
The program will provide participants with access to golf equipment, instruction, and playing opportunities at local golf courses. It will also offer mentorship and leadership development opportunities for older participants.
“We want to make sure that all young people have the chance to experience the game of golf and all the benefits it has to offer,” said Thompson. “Through this program, we hope to inspire a new generation of golfers and help them develop a lifelong love for the sport.”
The “Future Links, driven by Acura” program is just one of the many initiatives by Golf Canada to promote and grow the game of golf in Canada. With the support of partners like Acura and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Calgary, the program is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of many young people in the city.
