A cyclist was injured in a crash in Chatham-Kent on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Chatham-Kent Police Service, the incident occurred at around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Grand Avenue East and Lacroix Street.
The cyclist, a 45-year-old man, was traveling eastbound on Grand Avenue East when he was struck by a vehicle turning left onto Lacroix Street.
The cyclist was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, a 32-year-old woman, remained at the scene and cooperated with police. She was not injured in the crash.
The intersection was closed for several hours while police investigated the scene. It has since been reopened.
Police are reminding drivers to be cautious and aware of cyclists on the road, especially during the summer months when more people are out riding.
