Montgomery, Calgary – A water main break has caused road closures in the community of Montgomery as crews work to respond to the situation.
According to officials, the break occurred on Monday morning on 16 Avenue NW between 46 Street and Home Road. As a result, 16 Avenue NW is closed in both directions and Home Road is closed between 16 Avenue and 17 Avenue NW.
The City of Calgary’s Water Services team is currently on site, working to repair the break and restore water service to affected residents. It is estimated that the repairs will take several hours to complete.
In the meantime, residents in the area may experience low water pressure or temporary water outages. The City advises affected residents to store water for essential use, such as drinking and cooking, until the repairs are completed.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes to avoid delays. The closures are expected to remain in place until the repairs are finished.
