Pickup truck, motorcycle collide in southeast Calgary

A collision between a pickup truck and a motorcycle occurred in southeast Calgary on Tuesday evening, leaving one person injured.

According to the Calgary Police Service, the incident took place at the intersection of 52 Street and 130 Avenue SE around 6:30 p.m.

The pickup truck was traveling northbound on 52 Street when it collided with the motorcycle, which was heading eastbound on 130 Avenue.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene and found the motorcycle rider, a man in his 30s, suffering from serious injuries. He was immediately transported to hospital for treatment.

The driver of the pickup truck, a man in his 50s, remained at the scene and cooperated with police. He did not sustain any injuries.

The intersection was closed for several hours as police investigated the cause of the collision. It has since been reopened.

At this time, it is unclear what led to the collision and police are asking anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.
