Toronto Police have reported that two teenage suspects have been arrested after allegedly carjacking a victim and ramming a police cruiser.
According to authorities, the incident occurred on Monday evening in the area of Jane Street and Finch Avenue West. The victim was approached by two suspects, one armed with a firearm, who demanded the keys to their vehicle. The suspects then fled the scene in the stolen vehicle.
Police were able to locate the stolen vehicle and attempted to stop it, but the suspects refused to pull over and instead rammed a police cruiser. The suspects then fled on foot but were apprehended by officers a short distance away.
The two suspects, both 17 years old, have been charged with multiple offenses including robbery, possession of stolen property, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. They cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
No injuries were reported in the incident and the stolen vehicle has been recovered.
