Calgary transit riders who are planning to attend the Stampeders game on Sunday will need to make alternate travel arrangements due to the closure of the Red Line.
According to Calgary Transit, the Red Line will be closed between the Chinook and Heritage stations on Sunday, July 25th from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This closure is due to scheduled maintenance work on the tracks.
As a result, fans heading to the Stampeders game at McMahon Stadium will need to find alternative routes. Calgary Transit is advising riders to use the Blue Line and transfer to a shuttle bus at the Heritage station. The shuttle bus will take fans directly to the stadium.
For those who usually take the Red Line to get to the game, this change may cause some inconvenience. However, Calgary Transit assures riders that the shuttle bus will be running frequently to ensure smooth transportation to the stadium.
In addition, Calgary Transit is also reminding riders that face masks are mandatory on all transit vehicles and at stations. This is in accordance with the City of Calgary’s bylaw to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
For those who are not attending the Stampeders game, Calgary Transit advises planning ahead and allowing for extra travel time as the closure may cause delays on other transit routes.
The closure of the Red Line is necessary for the maintenance work to be completed and to ensure the safety of all transit riders. Calgary Transit apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and thanks riders for their understanding.
