Man stabbed in Montreal's Cote-des-Neiges neighbourhood

A man was stabbed in the Côte-des-Neiges neighborhood of Montreal on Tuesday evening, according to police.

The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on the corner of Côte-des-Neiges Road and Jean-Brillant Street. The victim, a 35-year-old man, was found with multiple stab wounds and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

According to Montreal police spokesperson Const. Jean-Pierre Brabant, the victim was conscious when he was transported to the hospital and was able to provide some information to investigators.

Police have not yet released any information about a possible suspect or motive for the stabbing. However, they are currently reviewing surveillance footage from the area and are asking anyone with information to come forward.

The intersection where the stabbing occurred was closed for several hours as police investigated the scene. It has since been reopened to traffic.

This incident is just the latest in a string of violent crimes in the Côte-des-Neiges neighborhood. In May, a 19-year-old man was shot and killed in a parking lot on Côte-des-Neiges Road. And in June, a 17-year-old boy was stabbed in a nearby park.

Residents in the area are expressing concern and calling for increased police presence to address the growing violence.

The investigation into Tuesday’s stabbing is ongoing and police are urging anyone with information to contact them.
