New batch of unauthorized sex products seized in Ontario over 'dangerous ingredients'

A recent bust in Ontario has resulted in the seizure of a new batch of unauthorized sex products due to the presence of dangerous ingredients. The products, which were being sold online, were found to contain harmful substances that could potentially harm consumers.

According to authorities, the products were not approved for sale in Canada and were being imported from overseas. The bust was a joint effort between the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Health Canada’s Compliance and Enforcement Directorate.

The seized products included a variety of sex toys, lubricants, and other sexual enhancement products. These items were found to contain ingredients such as benzocaine, a local anesthetic that can cause serious side effects including allergic reactions, breathing difficulties, and even death.

This is not the first time that unauthorized sex products have been seized in Ontario. In fact, just last year, a similar bust resulted in the seizure of over 80,000 units of unauthorized sexual enhancement products. These products were also found to contain dangerous ingredients, including sildenafil, a prescription drug used to treat erectile dysfunction.

The OPP and Health Canada are urging consumers to be cautious when purchasing sexual enhancement products, especially those sold online. They advise consumers to only purchase products that have been approved by Health Canada and to always read the labels and ingredients carefully.

In addition, authorities are reminding retailers to ensure that the products they are selling are authorized for sale in Canada and to check for any potential health risks associated with the ingredients.

The sale of unauthorized sex products not only poses a risk to consumers’ health but also undermines the regulatory system in place to protect Canadians. The OPP and Health Canada will continue to work together to crack down on the illegal sale of these products and protect the safety of Canadians.

Consumers who have purchased any of the seized products are advised to stop using them immediately and to contact Health Canada for further guidance. The OPP and Health Canada are committed to ensuring the safety of all Canadians and will continue to monitor and take action against the sale of unauthorized sex products.
