Second man charged in Saskatoon Ex sexual assault

Saskatoon, SK – A second man has been charged in connection with a sexual assault that took place in Saskatoon last month.

According to Saskatoon Police, 25-year-old John Smith was arrested on Tuesday and charged with sexual assault and forcible confinement. This comes after the initial arrest of 26-year-old Mark Johnson, who was charged with the same offenses.

The incident occurred on January 15th, when a woman reported being sexually assaulted by two men in an apartment in the 100 block of 5th Avenue North. The victim was able to escape and contact the police, who launched an investigation.

After gathering evidence and conducting interviews, police were able to identify Smith as a suspect in the case. He was arrested without incident and is currently in custody.

Police are still searching for a third suspect, who has been identified as 27-year-old Jake Williams. He is wanted on charges of sexual assault and forcible confinement.
