Gateway and Nick’s Place, two prominent organizations in the community, have recently announced the launch of the 2024 Lion Heart Awards. This prestigious event aims to recognize and celebrate individuals who have shown exceptional courage, resilience, and determination in the face of adversity.
The Lion Heart Awards, which will be held every four years, will honor individuals from all walks of life who have demonstrated extraordinary bravery and strength in overcoming challenges. These challenges may include personal struggles, health issues, or difficult circumstances in their communities.
According to Gateway’s CEO, Sarah Johnson, the Lion Heart Awards are a way to shine a light on the unsung heroes in our society. “We often hear about the achievements of celebrities and public figures, but there are countless individuals in our own neighborhoods who are facing their own battles and inspiring others with their courage and determination,” she stated.

Nominations for the Lion Heart Awards will be open to the public and will be accepted until December 31, 2023. A panel of judges, consisting of community leaders and representatives from both Gateway and Nick’s Place, will carefully review each nomination and select the winners.
The winners of the Lion Heart Awards will be announced at a gala event in 2024, where they will be presented with a trophy and a cash prize. In addition, their stories will be shared with the community to inspire and encourage others.
