Police are currently working to identify a kayaker who was found deceased on Lake Erie on Saturday evening.
According to authorities, the body was discovered by a passerby around 6:30 p.m. near the shoreline of Crystal Beach in Fort Erie, Ontario.
The kayaker, who has not yet been identified, was described as a white male in his 50s. He was wearing a life jacket and had a kayak paddle with him.
The cause of death is still under investigation, but police do not suspect foul play at this time.
The Niagara Regional Police Service is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the kayaker. They have released a description of the man and a photo of his kayak in hopes that someone may recognize him.
