Man seriously injured in Mississauga shooting

A man has been left with serious injuries after a shooting in Mississauga, according to police.

The incident occurred on Monday evening at around 8:30 p.m. in the area of Hurontario Street and Dundas Street East.

Peel Regional Police say they received multiple calls about gunshots being fired in the area. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim was immediately transported to a trauma centre for treatment. His current condition is unknown.

Police have not released any information about the suspect or suspects involved in the shooting. They are appealing to the public for any information or witnesses to come forward.

The area has been cordoned off for investigation and police are asking residents to avoid the area if possible.

This is the second shooting incident in Mississauga in less than a week. Last Thursday, a man was shot and killed in a parking lot near Hurontario Street and Eglinton Avenue.

Police are investigating whether the two incidents are connected.
