Calgary’s CTrain Red Line will experience a temporary closure this weekend for necessary maintenance work. The stretch of track affected will be from the Sunnyside Station to the Bridgeland/Memorial Station.
According to Calgary Transit, the closure will begin at 10 p.m. on Friday, July 16 and will continue until 5 a.m. on Monday, July 19. During this time, shuttle buses will be available to transport passengers between the affected stations.
The maintenance work being conducted includes track replacement, rail grinding, and switch maintenance. These tasks are essential for ensuring the safety and reliability of the CTrain system.
Calgary Transit advises passengers to plan ahead and allow for extra travel time if they will be using the Red Line this weekend. They also remind passengers to wear a mask while using public transportation, in accordance with current COVID-19 safety measures.
Regular CTrain service is expected to resume on Monday morning, with trains running on their usual schedule. Calgary Transit assures that the maintenance work will not affect the Blue Line or any other CTrain routes.
For more information and updates on the closure, passengers can visit the Calgary Transit website or follow their social media channels.
