Check your Lotto Max tickets: 4 Ontarians win $1 million

Four lucky Ontarians are starting off the new year with a bang, as they have each won a whopping $1 million in the latest Lotto Max draw.

The winning tickets were sold in different parts of the province, with one being purchased in the Greater Toronto Area, one in the Niagara region, and two in the Ottawa area.

According to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG), the winning numbers for the draw on January 7 were 3, 4, 5, 7, 31, 33, and 49, with the bonus number being 45.

The OLG has yet to reveal the identities of the winners, but they have confirmed that the tickets have been validated and the prizes are ready to be claimed.

This exciting news comes just a few weeks after a group of 12 co-workers from Markham, Ontario won the $60 million jackpot in the December 31 Lotto Max draw.

The OLG is reminding all players to check their tickets carefully, as there were also 20 Maxmillions prizes of $1 million each up for grabs in the January 7 draw. These prizes were won by players in British Columbia, Quebec, and the Atlantic provinces.

Lotto Max is a popular lottery game in Canada, with draws taking place twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays. The maximum jackpot is $70 million, with additional Maxmillions prizes available when the jackpot reaches $50 million.

Players can purchase tickets at authorized retailers or online through the OLG website or mobile app. The odds of winning the Lotto Max jackpot are approximately 1 in 33 million.

Congratulations to the four lucky Ontarians who have become millionaires overnight. As always, we remind all players to play responsibly and to check their tickets carefully. Who knows, you could be the next big winner!
