The EPS has not provided any further details about the nature of the operation, but they have assured the public that there is no immediate danger to the community.

In a statement, EPS spokesperson Constable Cheryl Voordenhout said, “We understand that this may cause inconvenience to residents, but we ask for their cooperation and understanding as we work to resolve the situation.”

The EPS has also advised residents to avoid sharing any information or images of the ongoing operation on social media, as it may compromise the safety of officers and the public.

At this time, it is unclear how long the operation will last, but the EPS has promised to provide updates as they become available.

Residents are reminded to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the EPS at 780-423-4567 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
