Winnipeg Police Seek Public’s Help in Identifying Deceased Woman
The Winnipeg Police Service has released a sketch in hopes of identifying a woman whose body was found in the Red River last month.
According to police, the woman’s body was discovered on December 21, 2020, near the Alexander Docks. The cause of death has not yet been determined, but police are treating it as suspicious.
In an effort to identify the woman, police have released a sketch of what she may have looked like. The sketch was created by a forensic artist based on the woman’s remains.
Police describe the woman as Indigenous, between 25 and 40 years old, with a medium build and short, dark hair. She was wearing a black jacket, black leggings, and black boots at the time of her death.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have information about the woman’s identity to come forward. They are also urging anyone who may have seen something suspicious in the area of the Alexander Docks on December 21 to contact them.
The Winnipeg Police Service is committed to identifying the woman and bringing closure to her family and loved ones. They are asking for the public’s help in this investigation and assure that any information provided will be kept confidential.
