Aaron Grymes joins Edmonton Elks coaching staff as team prepares for Labour Day rematch

Edmonton, AB – The Edmonton Elks have announced the addition of Aaron Grymes to their coaching staff as the team gears up for their Labour Day rematch against the Calgary Stampeders.

Grymes, a former defensive back for the Elks, brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the coaching staff. He played for the team from 2013 to 2016, and was a key player in their 2015 Grey Cup victory.

Head coach Jaime Elizondo expressed his excitement about Grymes joining the team, stating, “Aaron is a highly respected and accomplished player, and we are thrilled to have him join our coaching staff. His experience and expertise will be invaluable to our team as we prepare for the upcoming game.”

Grymes retired from playing in 2019 and has since been working as a coach for the University of Alberta Golden Bears. He also spent time as a coach for the CFL’s BC Lions in 2020.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to return to the Elks organization and contribute to the team’s success,” Grymes said. “I am looking forward to working with the players and coaching staff to help bring home another Grey Cup.”

The Elks are currently preparing for their Labour Day rematch against the Stampeders, which will take place on September 6th. The two teams last faced off on August 7th, with the Stampeders coming out on top with a 32-16 victory.
