Markham, ON – The York Regional Police have released a video of an armed home invasion that occurred in Markham for the second time this week. The incident took place on Tuesday, December 15, at approximately 9:30 p.m. in the area of 16th Avenue and Kennedy Road.
According to the police, three suspects entered the home armed with handguns and demanded money and jewelry from the residents. The suspects then fled the scene in a dark-colored SUV, believed to be a black or dark blue Jeep Cherokee.
The video released by the police shows the suspects entering the home and searching through the rooms. The residents, who were home at the time, were not physically harmed during the incident.
This is the second armed home invasion to occur in Markham this week. The first incident took place on Monday, December 14, in the area of 14th Avenue and Kennedy Road. In both cases, the suspects were described as three males wearing dark clothing and masks.
The York Regional Police are urging anyone with information about these incidents to come forward. They are also reminding residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity in their neighborhoods.
In a statement, Detective Sergeant Dave Mitchell said, “These are very concerning incidents and we are working diligently to identify and apprehend those responsible. We are asking anyone with information to come forward and assist us in bringing these individuals to justice.”
