Two men are facing firearms charges in separate incidents in Brantford, according to police.
The first incident occurred on Tuesday, when Brantford Police Service’s Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Colborne Street. During the search, officers found a loaded handgun, ammunition, and a large quantity of drugs, including fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine.
As a result, a 25-year-old man was arrested and charged with multiple firearm and drug-related offenses. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
In a separate incident on Wednesday, police responded to a report of a man with a gun in the area of Erie Avenue and Darling Street. The suspect was located and arrested without incident, and a loaded handgun was seized.
A 21-year-old man is now facing charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
Both men are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
