A man has been arrested in Victoria after being found in possession of a handgun and nearly $30,000 in cash, according to police.
The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon when officers from the Victoria Police Department were conducting a routine patrol in the 900 block of Pandora Avenue. They noticed a man who appeared to be carrying a handgun and approached him for further investigation.
Upon further inspection, the officers discovered that the man was indeed carrying a loaded handgun and also had a large sum of cash on his person. The man was immediately taken into custody without incident.
The suspect, who has not been identified, is facing multiple charges including possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000.
