A single driver has been injured and another has been arrested following a crash on Highway 401 in Mississauga, according to police.
The incident occurred on Monday evening, when a vehicle traveling eastbound on the highway collided with a transport truck near Hurontario Street.
The driver of the vehicle sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries is currently unknown.
Meanwhile, the driver of the transport truck was arrested at the scene and is facing charges of impaired driving and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
The eastbound lanes of Highway 401 were closed for several hours as police investigated the crash and cleared the scene. All lanes have since been reopened.
Authorities are reminding drivers to always prioritize safety and to never get behind the wheel while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
