Vancouver Police Appeal for Witnesses in Cyclist’s Serious Crash
The Vancouver Police Department is seeking witnesses to come forward after a cyclist was seriously injured in a crash on Monday evening.
According to authorities, the incident occurred at around 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of West 10th Avenue and Alma Street. The cyclist, a 35-year-old man, was struck by a vehicle and sustained serious injuries.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. However, police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has any information to come forward.
“We are urging anyone who may have seen the crash or has dashcam footage to contact us,” said VPD spokesperson Sgt. Steve Addison. “Even the smallest piece of information could be crucial in helping us determine the cause of this collision.”
The cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries and is currently in stable condition. The driver of the vehicle did not sustain any injuries.
The intersection was closed for several hours while police investigated the scene. It has since been reopened.
