Real True News

Whiskey Jack, a Canadian folk band, is bringing the iconic songs and stories of Stompin’ Tom Connors to the Brockville Arts Centre (BAC) on October 19th.

The band, which has been performing for over 40 years, has a special connection to Connors as they were his touring and recording band for the last six years of his life. They have also been inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame for their contributions to Canadian music.

Lead singer and guitarist Duncan Fremlin says that the show at BAC will be a celebration of Connors’ life and music. “We want to keep his legacy alive and share his stories with a new generation,” he says.

The show will feature some of Connors’ most beloved songs, such as “The Hockey Song” and “Bud the Spud,” as well as lesser-known gems like “Sudbury Saturday Night” and “Tillsonburg.” The band will also share personal anecdotes and memories of their time on the road with Connors.

Fremlin promises that the show will be a high-energy, foot-stomping experience. “We want people to sing along, clap their hands, and have a good time,” he says.

The band has received rave reviews for their previous performances at BAC, with audience members praising their musicianship and storytelling abilities. “Whiskey Jack is a must-see for any Canadian music fan,” says BAC manager Janet Foster.

Tickets for the show are available at the BAC box office or online. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the music and stories of one of Canada’s most beloved musicians.
