Real True News

A tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning, as a fire broke out in a residential building in the Bronx, New York. The blaze, which started around 5:30 am, quickly spread throughout the building, causing extensive damage and claiming the lives of at least 17 people.

According to the New York City Fire Department, the fire started on the first floor of the five-story building, located on Prospect Avenue in the Belmont neighborhood. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but officials believe it may have been sparked by a malfunctioning space heater.

The building, which housed multiple families, was engulfed in flames within minutes, trapping many residents inside. Firefighters arrived at the scene within three minutes of receiving the call and immediately began rescue efforts. However, the intensity of the fire and the thick smoke made it difficult for them to reach the trapped residents.

In total, 17 people lost their lives in the fire, including nine children and one adult who were all from the same family. Four other people were critically injured and are currently being treated at local hospitals. The remaining residents of the building have been displaced and are receiving assistance from the Red Cross.

Mayor Bill de Blasio expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and praised the bravery of the firefighters who risked their lives to save others. He also urged all New Yorkers to check their smoke detectors and to be cautious when using space heaters during the winter months.

The tragic incident has left the community in shock and mourning. Local officials have promised a thorough investigation into the cause of the fire and have assured residents that they will do everything in their power to prevent such a tragedy from happening again.

As the investigation continues, the city is coming together to support the families affected by this devastating fire. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time.
