Midtown Jewelry Store Targeted by Gunfire for Second Consecutive Night, Police Say
For the second night in a row, a jewelry store in midtown Toronto has been the target of gunfire, according to police.
The incident occurred on Tuesday night at a jewelry store located on Yonge Street near Eglinton Avenue. Police say that multiple shots were fired at the store, causing damage to the front window and door.
This comes just one night after a similar incident at the same store, where shots were also fired at the front of the building.
Thankfully, no injuries have been reported in either incident. However, police are concerned about the safety of the public and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
“We are taking these incidents very seriously and are actively investigating,” said Const. David Hopkinson of the Toronto Police Service. “We are asking anyone who may have witnessed anything or has any information to please contact us.”
Police have not yet released any information about potential suspects or motives for the shootings. They are currently reviewing surveillance footage and conducting interviews in hopes of gathering more information.
The store remains closed as police continue their investigation. The owners have declined to comment on the incidents.
This is a developing story and we will provide updates as more information becomes available. In the meantime, police are asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
