A lucky Quebec resident has struck it big, winning a historic $80 million jackpot in the Lotto Max draw.
The winning ticket was purchased in the Montérégie region, according to Loto-Québec. This marks the largest jackpot ever won in the province’s history.
The winning numbers were 1, 5, 13, 14, 22, 41 and 49, with the bonus number being 33.
The identity of the winner has not yet been revealed, but Loto-Québec has confirmed that the ticket has been validated and the prize will be paid out.
This win surpasses the previous record of $70 million, which was won in 2019 by a group of friends from the Eastern Townships.
The odds of winning the Lotto Max jackpot are approximately one in 33 million, making this win truly remarkable.
Loto-Québec has also announced that there were 42 Maxmillions prizes of $1 million each won in last night’s draw, with 27 of those being sold in Quebec.
The next Lotto Max draw will take place on Friday, July 30, with an estimated jackpot of $10 million.
This historic win serves as a reminder that anyone can become a millionaire overnight with a little bit of luck and a Lotto Max ticket.
