Officer injured while pursuing robbery suspect to tracks at Bloor-Yonge Station

A police officer was injured while pursuing a robbery suspect at Bloor-Yonge Station on Tuesday evening.

According to Toronto Police, the incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. when officers responded to a call about a robbery in progress at a convenience store near Bloor and Yonge streets.

The suspect fled the scene and the officers gave chase, eventually catching up to the suspect at the Bloor-Yonge subway station.

During the pursuit, one of the officers sustained injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries is currently unknown.

The suspect was apprehended and taken into custody. It is unclear at this time what charges they may face.

The incident caused delays on the subway line, with trains bypassing Bloor-Yonge Station for a period of time. Service has since resumed.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
