Man charged with murder at large in northern B.C.: RCMP

A man has been charged with murder and is currently at large in northern British Columbia, according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

The suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed, is wanted in connection with the death of a 35-year-old man in the community of Fort Nelson.

The incident occurred on December 27, 2021, and the victim was found deceased at a residence on the 5000 block of 50th Avenue.

The RCMP Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation and has issued a warrant for the arrest of the suspect.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 6 feet tall, with a medium build and short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, and black boots.

The RCMP is urging the public to not approach the suspect if he is seen, but to instead call 911 immediately.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the suspect is asked to contact the Fort Nelson RCMP at 250-774-2700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

The RCMP has also reminded the public that providing assistance to a wanted individual is a criminal offense.

The investigation is ongoing and the RCMP is asking anyone with information to come forward.

The RCMP has assured the community that they are doing everything in their power to locate and apprehend the suspect.
