Burlington Ont., man charged with child luring

Burlington, ONT – A 32-year-old man from Burlington, Ontario has been charged with child luring, according to police.

The accused, whose name has not been released, was arrested on December 15th after an investigation by the Halton Regional Police Service’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit.

Police say the investigation began in November when they received information about a man who was allegedly communicating with a child online and attempting to lure them for sexual purposes.

The accused has been charged with luring a child under the age of 16, making sexually explicit material available to a child, and possession of child pornography.

He is scheduled to appear in court on January 19th.

Police are reminding parents to monitor their children’s online activities and to have open and honest conversations about the dangers of online predators.
