The Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO) is offering a new program to help aspiring insurance brokers prepare for their Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO) Level 1 and 2 exams.
The IBAO Exam Clinic Program aims to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully pass their RIBO exams and enter the insurance industry with confidence.
The program consists of two parts: an online course and an in-person workshop. The online course covers the fundamentals of insurance, including terminology, regulations, and ethics. It also includes practice quizzes and exams to help students assess their understanding and identify areas for improvement.
The in-person workshop, which takes place over two days, focuses on exam preparation strategies and techniques. Experienced instructors will guide students through mock exams and provide personalized feedback to help them improve their test-taking skills.
According to IBAO CEO Colin Simpson, the Exam Clinic Program was developed in response to the high failure rate of RIBO exams. “We saw a need for a comprehensive program that would not only cover the material but also teach students how to approach the exams,” he explains.
The program is open to anyone preparing for their RIBO Level 1 or 2 exams, regardless of whether they are IBAO members or not. However, IBAO members will receive a discounted rate for the program.
The first session of the Exam Clinic Program will take place on October 19-20, 2019, in Toronto. Registration is now open on the IBAO website.
The IBAO is committed to supporting the development and success of future insurance brokers. With the launch of the Exam Clinic Program, they hope to see a decrease in the number of students who fail their RIBO exams and an increase in the number of qualified and knowledgeable insurance professionals entering the industry.
