Bridge closure in Mission Creek Regional Park

Bridge closure in Mission Creek Regional Park

Kelowna residents and visitors are advised to take note of a temporary bridge closure in Mission Creek Regional Park. The closure, which will affect the popular Greenway trail, is set to take place on Monday, September 13th.

According to the Regional District of Central Okanagan, the closure is necessary for the replacement of a bridge that has reached the end of its lifespan. The bridge, located near the Hollywood Road entrance, has been in use for over 30 years and is in need of replacement to ensure the safety of park users.

The closure is expected to last for approximately two weeks, with the bridge reopening on Friday, September 24th. During this time, the Greenway trail will be inaccessible from the Hollywood Road entrance to the KLO Creek Bridge. Park users are advised to use alternative routes and to plan their trips accordingly.

The Regional District of Central Okanagan has assured the public that the closure is necessary for the long-term maintenance and safety of the park. They have also stated that the new bridge will be wider and more accessible, providing an improved experience for all park users.

In the meantime, park visitors can still access the Greenway trail from the KLO Creek Bridge entrance and continue to enjoy the beautiful scenery and recreational opportunities that Mission Creek Regional Park has to offer.
