According to the Calgary Fire Department, the incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Monday at a complex on 64 Avenue and 4 Street NE. Firefighters arrived at the scene to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the townhouses.

The fire quickly escalated to a second alarm, prompting additional crews to respond. In total, 30 firefighters were on site to battle the blaze.
