Toronto sports fans have something to look forward to as the boss of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE) has announced plans to bring more championships and increased access to their teams.
In an interview with CTV News, MLSE CEO Michael Friisdahl shared his vision for the future of Toronto sports. He emphasized the importance of winning championships and providing fans with more opportunities to engage with their favorite teams.
Friisdahl acknowledged that Toronto sports fans have been waiting for a championship for quite some time, with the last major title being the Toronto Raptors’ NBA championship in 2019. He expressed his determination to bring more championships to the city, stating, “We want to win more championships. That’s what we’re here for.”
In addition to focusing on winning, Friisdahl also discussed plans to increase access for fans to their teams. This includes expanding the use of technology to provide virtual experiences for fans, as well as creating more opportunities for fans to interact with players and coaches.
“We want to make sure that our fans have access to our teams, whether it’s through technology or in-person experiences,” Friisdahl said.
MLSE owns several major sports teams in Toronto, including the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors, and Toronto FC. Friisdahl believes that by bringing more championships and increasing access for fans, the organization can continue to grow and thrive.
“We have a great group of teams, and we want to continue to build on that success,” he stated.
