Toronto Police to Receive Air Support from Province
The Toronto Police Service is set to receive air support from the province, as announced by the Ontario government on Tuesday.
This new partnership will provide the Toronto Police with access to the Ontario Provincial Police’s (OPP) helicopter and airplane fleet. The OPP will also provide trained pilots and tactical flight officers to assist the Toronto Police in their operations.
According to the Minister of the Solicitor General, Sylvia Jones, this collaboration will enhance public safety and improve response times for emergency situations. She also stated that the OPP’s air support has been instrumental in supporting local police services across the province.
The Toronto Police Chief, James Ramer, expressed his gratitude for this new partnership, stating that it will greatly benefit the city and its residents. He also mentioned that the OPP’s air support will be a valuable asset in responding to critical incidents and conducting search and rescue operations.
The OPP’s air support will be available to the Toronto Police 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This will allow for a quicker response time and a more efficient use of resources in emergency situations.
This collaboration between the Toronto Police and the OPP is a result of the province’s commitment to supporting local police services and ensuring the safety of Ontarians. The OPP’s air support will be a valuable addition to the Toronto Police’s existing resources and will help in keeping the city safe.
The Toronto Police Service is looking forward to working closely with the OPP and utilizing their air support to better serve the community. This partnership is a testament to the strong relationship between the two law enforcement agencies and their dedication to keeping the people of Toronto safe.
