2 Calgary residents allegedly discovered sleeping in stolen SUV by Okotoks RCMP

Two Calgary residents were found sleeping in a stolen SUV by Okotoks RCMP on Monday morning.

According to the RCMP, officers were patrolling the area when they came across a suspicious vehicle parked in a residential area. Upon further investigation, they discovered that the SUV had been reported stolen from Calgary.

The two individuals, a 29-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, were found sleeping inside the vehicle. They were arrested and charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000.

The RCMP also found a significant amount of stolen property inside the SUV, including identification documents, credit cards, and electronics. The investigation is ongoing to determine the origin of the stolen items.

Both individuals have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court on February 4, 2021.

This incident serves as a reminder for residents to always be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities. The RCMP also encourages vehicle owners to take precautions to prevent theft, such as locking their doors and not leaving valuables in plain sight.
