2 dead after fiery crash on Manitoba highway

Two people have tragically lost their lives in a fiery crash on Manitoba Highway 1.

According to authorities, the collision occurred on Sunday evening near the town of Headingley, just west of Winnipeg. The incident involved two vehicles, a pickup truck and a semi-trailer truck, which both caught fire upon impact.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find the vehicles engulfed in flames. Despite their efforts, the two occupants of the pickup truck were unable to escape and were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi-trailer truck was able to escape with minor injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but it is believed that the pickup truck was travelling in the wrong direction on the highway before colliding with the semi-trailer truck.

The highway was closed for several hours as crews worked to clear the wreckage and investigate the scene. It has since been reopened to traffic.

This tragic incident serves as a reminder for all drivers to remain vigilant and follow traffic laws to ensure the safety of themselves and others on the road.

Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of the victims during this difficult time.
