New Vancouver-Little Mountain riding guaranteed to have rookie MLA

Real True News

Vancouver’s Little Mountain riding is set to have a new rookie MLA representing its constituents in the upcoming provincial election.

The riding, which covers the area of Mount Pleasant and Riley Park, has been a hotly contested battleground for political parties in recent years. However, with the retirement of long-time MLA Melanie Mark, the race for the riding’s seat has become even more competitive.

The New Democratic Party (NDP) has announced its candidate for the riding, George Chow, who is a former Vancouver city councillor and current Minister of State for Trade. Chow brings with him a wealth of experience in both municipal and provincial politics, making him a strong contender for the position.

Chow’s platform focuses on addressing the housing crisis in the city, as well as improving public transportation and investing in green initiatives. He also plans to work closely with the community to address issues such as affordability and accessibility.

On the other hand, the Liberal Party has chosen Naomi Yamamoto as their candidate for the riding. Yamamoto is a former MLA for North Vancouver-Lonsdale and has held various cabinet positions in the past. She has promised to prioritize economic recovery and job creation in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Green Party has also announced its candidate for the riding, Pete Fry, who is a current Vancouver city councillor. Fry’s platform centers around addressing the climate crisis and promoting sustainable development in the city.

With such strong candidates from all three major parties, the race for the Little Mountain riding is expected to be a close one. The riding has historically been a swing riding, with no clear winner in previous elections.

As the election draws near, the candidates will be working hard to win over the hearts and minds of the constituents in Little Mountain. It will be interesting to see who comes out on top and represents the riding in the provincial legislature.

In the meantime, residents of Little Mountain can expect to see plenty of campaign signs and canvassers in their neighborhoods as the candidates ramp up their efforts to secure the riding’s seat. The election will take place on October 24, 2020, and the results will determine who will be the new rookie MLA for Vancouver’s Little Mountain riding.
