A Hamilton man has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting two females after offering them a ride.
According to police, the incidents occurred on December 30, 2020 and January 1, 2021. The accused, 33-year-old John Smith, allegedly offered the victims a ride in his vehicle and then proceeded to sexually assault them.
The first incident took place in the area of Main Street East and Kenilworth Avenue North. The second incident occurred in the area of Main Street East and Wentworth Street North.
Both victims reported the incidents to the police, leading to Smith’s arrest on January 2, 2021. He has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and is currently in custody.
Police are urging anyone with information or who may have been a victim of a similar incident to come forward and contact the Hamilton Police Service’s Sexual Assault Unit.
