As the weekend approaches, drivers in the Montreal area should be aware of several road closures that may impact their travel plans. These closures are necessary for ongoing construction and maintenance projects, and it is important for motorists to plan their routes accordingly.
Starting on Friday, November 19 at 10 p.m., the Turcot Interchange will be closed in both directions until Monday, November 22 at 5 a.m. This closure will affect the following routes: Highway 15 North and South, Highway 20 East and West, and Highway 720 East and West. Detours will be in place, but drivers should expect delays and plan for alternate routes if possible.
In addition, the Ville-Marie Expressway will be closed in both directions between the Turcot Interchange and the entrance to the Louis-Hippolyte Lafontaine Tunnel from Friday, November 19 at 11 p.m. until Monday, November 22 at 5 a.m. This closure is necessary for the installation of new overhead signs and will also impact the following routes: Highway 20 East and West, Highway 720 East and West, and Highway 25 North and South. Detours will be in place, but drivers should expect significant delays and consider using public transportation if possible.
On Saturday, November 20, the Jacques Cartier Bridge will be closed in both directions from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for maintenance work. Drivers can use the Champlain Bridge or the Victoria Bridge as alternate routes during this time.
Finally, the Mercier Bridge will be closed in both directions from Saturday, November 20 at 6 a.m. until Monday, November 22 at 5 a.m. for maintenance work. Drivers can use the Champlain Bridge or the Jacques Cartier Bridge as alternate routes during this time.
It is important for drivers to plan their routes in advance and to allow for extra travel time due to these closures. The safety of workers and motorists is the top priority during these construction and maintenance projects, and we thank everyone for their patience and understanding.
