A tenant in a subsidized building in Saskatoon is speaking out about the ongoing issue of roaches infesting their living space.
The tenant, who wishes to remain anonymous, says they have been dealing with roaches every night and it has become a constant battle to keep them at bay.
“I’ve had to chase roaches every night,” the tenant said. “It’s exhausting and frustrating.”
The tenant has been living in the building for over a year and says the problem has only gotten worse. They have tried various methods to get rid of the roaches, including using pesticides and setting traps, but nothing seems to work.
“It’s not just my unit, it’s the whole building,” the tenant added. “I’ve talked to my neighbors and they are all dealing with the same issue.”
The tenant also expressed concerns about the health hazards that come with having roaches in their living space. They worry about the potential spread of diseases and the impact it could have on their well-being.
The building is managed by a private company, but the tenant says their complaints have fallen on deaf ears. They have reached out to the management multiple times, but the roach problem persists.
CTV News reached out to the management for a statement, but they have yet to respond.
In the meantime, the tenant is left to deal with the roaches on their own, and they are calling for action to be taken to address the issue.
“I shouldn’t have to live like this in a subsidized building,” the tenant said. “I hope something can be done to finally get rid of these roaches for good.”
