A man has been seriously injured in a crash on Lake Shore Boulevard in downtown Toronto.
According to Toronto police, the incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday near the intersection of Lake Shore Boulevard and Lower Simcoe Street.
The man, who has not been identified, was driving eastbound on Lake Shore Boulevard when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a pole.
Emergency services were called to the scene and the man was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
The eastbound lanes of Lake Shore Boulevard were closed for several hours as police investigated the crash. They have since reopened.
At this time, it is unclear what caused the driver to lose control of his vehicle. Police are asking anyone with information or dashcam footage of the incident to come forward.
