SAIT Death Investigation Sees Police Release Photos of Unknown Man
The Calgary Police Service has released photos of an unknown man as part of their ongoing investigation into the death of a Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) student.
On December 16, 2021, the body of 21-year-old SAIT student, Taylor Toller, was found in her residence on SAIT’s campus. The death was deemed suspicious and the Calgary Police Service’s Homicide Unit took over the investigation.
As part of their efforts to gather more information, the police have released photos of an unknown man who was seen in the area of Toller’s residence on the night of her death. The photos were captured by CCTV cameras in the area and show the man walking near the SAIT campus.
The man is described as being in his late 20s or early 30s, with a medium build and short dark hair. He was wearing a dark jacket, dark pants, and a light-colored hoodie at the time.
The Calgary Police Service is asking anyone who may have information about this man or his whereabouts to come forward. They are also urging the man in the photos to contact them to assist with their investigation.
In a statement, Staff Sergeant Martin Schiavetta of the Calgary Police Service’s Homicide Unit said, “We believe this man may have information that could help us piece together the events leading up to Taylor’s death. We are asking him to come forward and speak with us.”
The police have also reiterated their plea for anyone with information about Toller’s death to come forward. They are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area of SAIT’s campus on the night of December 16, 2021.
The release of these photos is a significant development in the investigation and the Calgary Police Service is hopeful that it will lead to more information about Toller’s death.
