Two individuals have been charged following a heavy police presence on the Louis Bull First Nation in Alberta.
According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the incident began on Monday afternoon when officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence on the First Nation. Upon arrival, they discovered a man with serious injuries and immediately provided medical assistance.
The man was then transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. His current condition is unknown.
As a result of the investigation, two individuals have been arrested and charged. 21-year-old Kelsey Bull and 22-year-old Kody Bull, both from the Louis Bull First Nation, are facing charges of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The RCMP has confirmed that the two accused are known to the victim and that this was not a random incident. They also stated that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The incident caused a heavy police presence in the area, with multiple RCMP units, including the Major Crimes Unit, the Forensic Identification Section, and the Police Dog Services, being deployed to the scene.
The Louis Bull First Nation Chief, Irvin Bull, expressed his concern and disappointment over the incident, stating that the community is working closely with the RCMP to ensure the safety and well-being of its members.
