A man has been charged with assault causing bodily harm after an incident in Chatham, according to police.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a call on Monday evening regarding a disturbance at a residence on Grand Avenue East. Upon arrival, officers found a man with serious injuries and immediately called for medical assistance.
The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment and is currently in stable condition.
After further investigation, police arrested and charged a 32-year-old man with assault causing bodily harm. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
The identity of the accused has not been released in order to protect the privacy of the victim.
