The Regina Thunder have emerged victorious in the Prairie Football Conference (PFC) final, toppling the Saskatoon Hilltops with a final score of 24-21.
The highly anticipated game took place on Saturday at Mosaic Stadium in Regina, with both teams showcasing their skills and determination on the field.
The Thunder started off strong, scoring the first touchdown of the game in the first quarter. However, the Hilltops quickly responded with a touchdown of their own, tying the game at 7-7.
The second quarter saw both teams exchanging field goals, with the Thunder taking a slight lead of 13-10 going into halftime.
In the third quarter, the Hilltops came back strong, scoring two touchdowns and taking the lead with a score of 21-13. But the Thunder refused to back down, and with a touchdown and a successful two-point conversion, they tied the game at 21-21.
The fourth quarter was a nail-biter, with both teams fighting for the win. In the end, it was the Thunder who came out on top, with a field goal in the final minutes of the game, securing their victory and the PFC title.
This marks the first time since 2016 that the Thunder have won the PFC final, and it is a well-deserved win for the team who has worked tirelessly throughout the season.
The Thunder will now move on to the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) semifinals, where they will face off against the Langley Rams on November 13th.
