Highway 13 closure after pedestrian hit, injured

A major highway in Montreal was temporarily closed after a pedestrian was hit and injured on Monday evening.

According to authorities, the incident occurred on Highway 13 near the intersection of Henri-Bourassa Boulevard around 6:30 p.m. The pedestrian, whose identity has not been released, was struck by a vehicle and sustained serious injuries.

Emergency services were immediately called to the scene and the pedestrian was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries is currently unknown.

As a result of the accident, Highway 13 was closed in both directions between Henri-Bourassa Boulevard and Highway 40. The closure caused significant traffic delays and motorists were advised to find alternate routes.

The highway was reopened around 9 p.m. after police completed their investigation and cleared the scene.
