Sask. man facing child pornography charges

A Saskatchewan man is facing serious charges after being arrested for possession and distribution of child pornography.

According to the Saskatoon Police Service, the 35-year-old man was taken into custody on January 6th, 2021, following an investigation by the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit.

The ICE unit, which is a part of the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit, received a tip from the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre about a possible suspect in the Saskatoon area.

After conducting a search warrant at the suspect’s residence, police seized multiple electronic devices and found evidence of child pornography.

The man has been charged with possession and distribution of child pornography, as well as accessing child pornography. He is scheduled to appear in court on February 25th, 2021.

The Saskatoon Police Service is reminding the public to report any suspicious online activity involving children to the ICE unit or Crime Stoppers.

This arrest serves as a reminder that the exploitation of children through the distribution of child pornography is a serious crime and will not be tolerated. The ICE unit is dedicated to investigating and prosecuting those who engage in such heinous acts.

The Saskatoon Police Service is also urging parents and caregivers to educate themselves and their children about online safety and to monitor their online activities.
