The Brantford Expositor – The Brantford 99ers faced a tough loss in their second consecutive game, falling to the Mississauga Steelheads with a final score of 5-2.

The game, which took place at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre in Mississauga, saw the 99ers struggle to keep up with the Steelheads’ strong offense. Despite their best efforts, the 99ers were unable to secure a win.

The first period saw the Steelheads take an early lead, with goals from both James Hardie and Keean Washkurak. The 99ers fought back, with a goal from forward Ryan Winterton, but the Steelheads maintained their lead with another goal from Hardie.

In the second period, the 99ers continued to push back, with a goal from defenseman Jake Murray. However, the Steelheads responded with two more goals, from Cole Schwindt and Thomas Harley, bringing the score to 5-2.

The third period saw the 99ers put up a strong defense, but they were unable to close the gap and secure a win. The Steelheads’ goalie, Kai Edmonds, made 27 saves throughout the game, preventing the 99ers from making a comeback.

Despite the loss, the 99ers showed determination and resilience throughout the game. Head coach Wes Wolfe praised the team’s effort, stating, “We played hard, we played with a lot of heart, and we just came up short.”

The 99ers will have a chance to redeem themselves in their next game against the Niagara IceDogs on Friday, October 25th at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre. Fans can expect an intense and competitive game as the 99ers look to bounce back from their recent losses.
