A shocking video has emerged showing a suspect firing 18 shots at a home in York Region, shattering a bedroom window.
The incident occurred on Monday night at a residence on Bayview Avenue near Major Mackenzie Drive in Richmond Hill. The video, captured by a security camera, shows a man walking up to the home and firing multiple shots at the bedroom window before fleeing the scene.
According to York Regional Police, the suspect fired a total of 18 shots, with several bullets penetrating the window and entering the bedroom. Fortunately, no one was injured in the shooting.
The homeowner, who wishes to remain anonymous, told CTV News that the incident has left them feeling terrified and vulnerable. They also expressed concern for their family’s safety, as well as the safety of their neighbors.
Police are currently investigating the incident and are appealing to the public for any information that may lead to the identification of the suspect. They have described the suspect as a male, approximately 5’10” with a medium build, wearing a dark hoodie and dark pants.
Residents in the area are also being urged to check their security cameras for any footage that may assist in the investigation.
This brazen act of violence has left the community in shock and has raised concerns about the safety of the neighborhood. Police are reminding residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to authorities.
